Wireless Keyboards

The wireless keyboard is a device used with laptops or desktop computers. The purpose of the wireless keyboard is to input letters into a central processing unit (CPU) or motherboard. The CPU or motherboard processes the data from the wireless keyboard and transfers the information to the monitor or display.

The wireless keyboard was developed from the keyboard with a cord. The wireless keyboard uses the infrared or Bluetooth technology to transmit data. On the other hand, the wireless keyboard may also use a radio frequency. The infrared, Bluetooth, or radio frequency device is housed in a receiver which is connected to the CPU or motherboard through a USB port. The data receiver reads and transmits the data from the wireless keyboard.

There are variations to a wireless keyboard. One example is the gaming keyboard which is manufactured with special game keys. The game keys may have different functions depending on how these have been set by the game player. Another type of wireless keyboard is the multimedia keyboard which has dedicated keys for programs and applications regularly operated. Finally, there is the virtual keyboard which is a usable infrared-projected keyboard image.

Using A Wireless Keyboard

The wireless keyboard eliminates the disorder and danger caused by intertwined wires. The wireless keyboard also provides more freedom in the use of space since the wireless keyboard may be positioned on a location that the user may find more convenient to work.

Acquiring A Wireless Keyboard

The wireless keyboard is often sold in electronics shops and computer stores. Similarly, the wireless keyboard is available in second-hand computer shops or on the Internet.
